Popular Belleville market relocated to Fairview Heights – and it isn’t looking back

Belleville News Democrat

After operating in Belleville for 14 years, La Jerezana Mexican Market has relocated to Fairview Heights’ Winchester Plaza.

Owners Felix and Ines De Santiago moved their store to the space once occupied by Sunshine Daydream.

(Sunshine Daydream moved to 208 Frank Scott Parkway East, Suite 2-3, in Swansea – just across and up the street from their previous digs – back in August 2020).

This store continues a trend that we have been encouraging for the past several years by attracting grocery retailers such as ALDI, Fresh Thyme, and Ruler Foods

Inez De Santiago said that they were nervous about moving but are glad they did.

Since opening March 3, their established and loyal customers still shop with them, said De Santiago. Business is better because they have a lot of new customers too.

She said that families who dine nearby notice the shop and stop by for a first look. Many come back soon after to purchase groceries for the family and candy for the children.

I took my own first look around the store, taking note of the variety of salsas (yum yum yum) and more than enough dried peppers and spices to make any foodie who loves to cook happy.
